![]() What's more, within each of these reside three effects - one, two, and three. The mod and dly/rev knobs are divided up into four sections labelled A, B, C, and D. The basic premise though, is straightforward. Just how the effects are chosen comes across as a little clumsy in print so we'd suggest checking out the embedded video demo to see exactly how it's done. There are also 12 reverb and delay effects - all of which are accessed, selected and edited via the mod or dly/rev pot. All settings on the five-knob front panel, aside from the master volume, can be edited and saved.Īlongside the amps are a choice of effects and Fender has resisted the temptation to overload the Mustang with all manner of unusable noises in favour of different types of the same denomination of effect: chorus and deep chorus, a slow and fast Vibratone and so on. The models comprise three of Fender's best-known amps, two British options and a trio of higher gain amps. Press the save button, scroll between red and green, then save again and it's done. I think they really need to give the switches more configurable functionality because as they are now It seems to me like a serious waste of resources. There are no menus to squint at, or multi-element LED displays to keep track of, so the Mustang is immediately easy to use.Īlthough loaded with tones from the outset, the concept is that you set up a sound in the non-editable orange banks, then save it to the specific amp model's red or green equivalent. So because the 2 button doesn't have that i end up wasting the 4 button for one function ! I never really turn the delays off and i almost never use modulation effects. I would use the 2 button for stomp and mod on/off and the 4 button for 3 patches, but for one problem.i MUST have a LED indicator for stomp on/off. Basically be able to program any button to do whatever it's capable of and all 4 assignable on thier own terms w/o affecting the other. I really would love to see new firmware that would allow you to split the functions of the 4 button so that for example you could program one button to turn the stomps on/off and the other 3 buttons for patches or up/down and mod on/off. And like you i use the 4 button for effects on/off, mainly the stomp. Your way is less confusing but i'm not gigging with it so i set it like that. Thats about what i do, tho i use the 2 button as up/down so i can access more than 2 slots. Give it a shot.if you find yourself not 100% happy with your modeling rig. ![]() It's easily my favorite of all amp modelers I've tried so far and it doesn't take up a lot of space and it doesn't break the bank. You can google the specs and different models for yourself, I just wanted to give a shout out to Fender for producing a good piece here. I have the patch volume on 5 and the master on 2 and it's plenty for sitting right in front of it. The high gain tones are there and awesome. I hate to compare things, but I had a very convincing Twin and deluxe tone within seconds. The sound is what I really want to talk about. If anyone has a question.post it, and I'll find the answer. Mess around with it for an hour or so and your good to go. I won't go into a lot of redundant detail about the features and programming other than it's a simple design with a very short learning curve. It's easily half the price of a modeling rig I could live with. When you factor in your modeler of choice, a FRFR of chioce and (for a lot of us) an Epsi or Torpedo cab. Without a doubt this is a great buy for $499. A preset users bank would be nice for example, but I'll stick to the amp. ![]() The Fender Fuse software was a bit confusing at first, but I'm getting the hang of it. I've always been a Fender guy (I've used Fender guitars and amps for over 30 years) so it seemed like a natural choice. All are very impressive and great at different things so I certainly have nothing bad to say about any of them.įor me and what I want to do I felt my rig was getting overly complicated, so I decided to continue my search and try a Fender Mustang IV. HD500/DT50, Elevenrack, RP360XP and a Zoom G5. As you may or may not know I've been trying out a lot of amp modelers lately.
